Biography
Julian Roy
Born in Manchester in 1963, Jules spent his formative years in North Wales which inspired a fascination with the sea. Following his love of photography, Jules has worked in the industry since leaving college in 1986. Based in the northwest of England, Jules worked his way from photographer to studio manager at Tony Hall Studios and on to Associate Director at Refinery. After 11 years with Refinery, working with both film and digital equipment, Jules established AquaViolet and moved over completely to digital media.

His work has taken him to the south of France, Spain and Italy where he could indulge his other love. Scuba diving. The marriage of these two loves resulted in Jules' underwater cinematography and his award winning film "Blue Spirit", made in the Egyptian Red Sea and the Maldives.

In recent years, as an addition to photography, Jules has included the new role of director of photography in his repertoire, working with both film and high definition video on television commercials for GHD and Nu:u hair products, The Trafford Centre and The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.
